Overview:

This course concentrates on the basic understanding of buildings, building types and how they function and serve to users, and other building services which can be classified as the mechanical, electrical and fire safety equipment and installations.  In addition, bathroom and kitchen design requirements from the interior design perspective is covered through ergonomics, dimension, usage and mechanical equipment related issues. Related abbreviations and legend tables for mechanical and electrical systems as well as some examples of technical drawings are also integrated in the course.

Objectives of the course:

The objectives of the course are to;

  • Understand basic concepts and principles of building services,
